Assignment instruction:

  • All assignment needs to be turned in on time in class. Late work will undoubtedly jeopardize student’s progress in grammar comprehension and character recognition. All assigned work from WB needs to be written on line-paper, character homework on grid paper. Beginning character writers need to write characters on grid paper which can be easily created by using Microsoft Word under Table à Insert à Table. Fill in the number of columns and rows you desire and voila!
  • You do NOT need to copy the questions from the WB, just submit the answers with page and problem numbers clearly marked.
  • All assignment will be graded and returned within a week.
  • No late assignment will be accepted.

Grading and Requirement: Total 1000 points

1)      Attendances are mandatory. After the first unexcused absence, each repeated unexcused absence will be counted as 1 point off the final grade. Chronic and habitual tardiness is treated equally as absences.

2)      Assignment 220 -- Assignment, due in class, is listed on the last page of this packet. Turn in the completed assignment and you get the points. No assignment, no points. No late assignment will be accepted.

3)      Film report and discussion 150 -- Watch the films by the due dates listed. Write a film report for The Soong Sisters and answer questions provided by the instructor in your report. Fully participate the discussion for film #2 To Live and show your knowledge of the film will be the only means instructor has to grade you on this assignment.

4)      Quizzes 300 -- 6 quizzes will be given throughout the term.

5)      Final Oral 130 -- Individual oral exam, in the format of question and answer, will be given on the last day of class. The subject will be My family.
