Objectives:
Grading and Requirement: Total 1000 points
1) Attendances are mandatory. After the first unexcused absence, each repeated unexcused absence will be counted as 1 point off the final grade. Chronic and habitual tardiness will receive a warning from the instructor and treated equally as absences if not corrected. 2) Assignment 150 -- Assignment, due in class, is listed on the last page of this packet. Turn in the completed assignment and you get the points. No assignment, no points. No late assignment will be accepted. 3) 2006 New Year Celebration 150 – Chinese New Year is the most important holiday of the year. Learning how to celebrate Chinese New Year is imperative to understand the Chinese culture. Participation is mandatory. Work is plenty. Prepare early! 4) Film report and discussion 100 – title: Together. Watch the film by due date and be ready to fully participate in the discussion in class. Show your knowledge of the film will be the only means instructor has to grade you on this assignment. 5) Quizzes 300 – 6 quizzes will be given throughout the term. 6) Final Oral 150 – Read a pre-selected narrative in class. 7) Final Exam 150 – Written exam on Lessons 3 through 5 is on March 13, 2006, 10:30-12:20 p.m.
